I attend one of the top universities in the country, and arguably the most competitive sorority school in the country. For some it's all about family and money. Anyone and everyone ever involved in the Greek System is obviously going to be biased toward their sorority or the sorority that all of their friends are in. Based on the totally appraisal of KKG, It reeks of favoritism and lack of awareness. Most down to earth girls I've ever met. You know those girls that were left over or that nobody else would take? Kappa Alpha Theta. I was exposed to a bunch of them my sophomore year in college, and learned a bit through "osmosis" although I can completely understand not wanting to pledge! I'm a Zeta Tau Alpha and I don't wear heavy make up nor do I have a "princess complex." Wrong on so many levels. If not, they need to. This is stupid. This may be because the sorority has recently fought its way to the top tier and has a reputation to maintain. However Zeta still got a better pledge class and Chi-O isnt on the same level as PKT. Zeta Tau Alpha tends to be far more popular in the South than elsewhere in the country. Hard to rank AEPhi. Sorority and Fraternity Life created the Good Standing and Achieved Excellence Program to clearly communicate and record administrative, operational, and participation expectations for all chapters. Many have noted that while Chi Os are sweet and classy, they are not necessarily known as the most physically attractive women (but not the ugliest, either; many have said they are plain Janes). They're not as concerned with academics or philanthropy than they are about socializing/partying and sisterhood. She did not attend any of the right camps or go to the most prestigious high schoolbut she ended up where she should have and she is very, very happy!

Im not a part of Greek life, but I have many friends who are. Classy and involved are not words typically used to describe Alpha Phi girls, but fun and popular are. They got lots of girls who made it through two rounds of at least one of PKT but then got dropped. Alpha Phi: Ten years ago A Phi was on the same level as ADPi and KD. Whatever you read here should probably be ignored. I personally like Kappa better than Pi Phi or Theta but can see why others would prefer one of other two. What I have learned is that we all have our pre-conceived notions about what sororities are and most of it is crap. That was just a matter of numbers because chapters can only take so many girls. The tier has everything to do with how picky it can be about members. This years PC is cute and fun from what Ive seen so far. OK, honestly, they were all beautiful blondes, great bodies, looked alike, and were a tad snobby, but not mean or fake. Their academic reputation is good, but they also have a reputation for avoiding tough majors in favor of less-demanding subjects that dont conflict with their social lives. Theta smart and cute. That one looks good to me. I never knew anything about this stuff, and your take on their reputations was a lot more interesting than reading a wikipedia of their history. I don't even think they are trying to improve because they don't think there's anything wrong. Agreed on everything except AXO. Sure, there are a few nerdier girls in DG and KD and ADPi has some quiet girls but those are all great chapters as is AXD. GIve your ego a rest and actually _try_ to go for the top girls and you might be surprised and end up winning them over. This sorority seems more concerned about recruiting a wide range of girls, which can make chapters diverse and interesting, than recruiting the most "beautiful" girls. UT rush is incredibly competitive due to the high number of legacies and in state students who already have connections with the chapters, plus the number of PNMs who only seem to want one of six chapters. I am still stunned by the APhi turnaround but I see things from AXiD that make me think they are working something there that my chapter is not. But be very careful not to fall in love with anyone specifically. The biggest sororities have hundreds of chapters across the U.S. and abroadthe oldest have been around since the 1850s. Generally rich, classy, snobby, and brunettes Who are equestrians. Usually nice girls, not a ton of super pretty girls though. Shame on you. You will find some houses that have crazy pride and splash their letters all over the place and you will find some that dont really care. Having stellar grade matter. (Hang w/ Tri Delt, some Zeta, and some PKT + Sig Ep, KA, and some Fiji) It was where I felt I fit in, and I ended up finding out that I would have been extremely unhappy if I'd gone with my old friends. I don't think they've ever missed quota, but every year since my niece started HS 3 years ago, I look at the PC photos and get more concerned. This article was definitely slanted toward Southern and Eastern campuses since the "hottest " sororities in the west (with two exceptions) were not on the list.
