I don't find it to get bitter unless smoked too quickly. I therefore prefer to use a filter pipe to reduce the unwanted acrid taste. It delivers the nicotine hit of Gaslight minus the catfish bait smell. Also makes a good mixer for a blend that needs help. The overall flavor may get a bit richer and fuller, but the profile doesn't change.
